So....How Do You Find Out What's On Your Driving Records
You just have to request a copy. Well, it's not really that easy. Driving Records are not just laying around. There are 2 ways to get them....
- Drive down to the Courthouse, DMV or Governmental Agency that "owns" your Driving Records, pay for parking, wait in line and then pay $5 - $10 for a copy. It's not a lot of fun. And by the way, if you're trying to get a copy of a driving record that's not yours (perhaps that teenager on your insurance policy), you'll need to drag them along too.
- Hop online or pick-up the phone and request driving records....without ever having to show your face at the Courthouse or DMV.

Let's face it, State and Local Governments are not perfect - they do make clerical errors - sometimes a lot of them. I had a Speeding Ticket that I "found" on my Driving Records.....almost 7 years after I paid it. How did I find out? My Insurance Company told me....in a very nasty letter.
And if you're considering a job-change and the new employer will check your Driving Records....you'd better get a peek at your driving record before you even apply.
Or, maybe you or a spouse, son or daughter "forgot" about those speeding tickets. And you can bet that great job you really want will disappear once they get a look at the "violations" you forgot about.
